To succeed you have to be smart, and you must start to treat your retail rental just like an ecommerce business would. You need to treat your retail rental, like a marketing expense. Your rent brings in the foot traffic. It's like your Ad spend. And just like Ad spend the price is going up. But if you were an ecommerce business, you would do everything in your power to capture that data. So as a retailer, why don't you? If you could capture the data of everybody that walked through your door, you would reduce your Ad dependency, and start marketing to your data, for free, forever, just like an ecommerce business does when people signup. Or, if you're doing a Loyalty Club on a POS forget about it, all you're doing is looking at data from people who want discounts, and buy the products you sell at cost. Those Loyalty Clubs on POS systems are not increasing your ATV, i.e. they don't make people spend more. They almost always make people spend less.
